Hotel & Restaurant Waldschloss

While on a Viking Cruise there had been a collision between two river barges that prevented all other ships passing so while we were touring Passau, the ships crew unloaded all the passengers belongings (which we had previously packed) and transported around the river obstacles and put in our 'new' ship. Fortunately the ships were/are identical so all we had to do was unpack and carry on when we were transported by bus to our ship. Apparently the Hotel Waldschloss (obviously) been contacted previously to expect around 180 extra people for lunch and they did a magnificent job of it. The weather was beautiful so we were all seated outdoors in a very nice garden area. The menu had been predetermined but some in our group are vegetarian so we asked our server if it would be possible to have something different. Not a problem. A delicious meal was made up and brought with the others ~ it actually looked and tasted better than what other people got! With all the extra work the Hotel staff had to go through, they were all very accommodating, kind, and cheerful.
