Gasthof Hotel zur Post

Stayed for 2 nights as a base for the Wendelstein round trip; which works well from here, with the Bavaria train day pass you can travel the full roundtrip Kiefersfelden-Rosenheim-Holzkirchen-Ostendorf and then back with cable car and cogwheel train to Brannenburg or other way round, for 33 euro for 2 persons. Hotel is at the station doorstep. Spacious rooms, though sometimes quite some stairs to climb; ours was front side with balcony, no train noise at all but back side might be different. Spacious room but basic, of course this is 2-3 star hence don't expect much poshness, Bathrooms renovated not too long ago, and decent. Breakfast excellent for the price level, with even eggs made to order. Also had 2 excellent Bavarian-style dinners in their restaurant. Friendly staff.
