Super friendly staff, great location (just 5-10 minutes away from the city centre), and also good prices (for Nuremberg standards, as most places are very expensive and/or out of the city centre). The WiFi was excellent. The room was small with no sink/place to hang your clothes, however. I didn't mind sharing a bathroom with other guests but I think they should have been cleaned more often (more than once a day).

Ideal for a short, budget stay in Nuremberg

This is a well located property, very easy to walk into the centre of Nuremberg & close to good restaurants. The owner was friendly, the rooms and facilities were very clean and the most comfortable hostel bed I have slept in for a longtime. Quick wifi, happily come back

Friendly and Clean

I didn't book a hostel in Nuremberg as I was planning to travel a bit further to a smaller village. I decided to give this spot a go and it was a horrible idea. I should've listened to the other reviews. The door said check-in 3:00-9:00 pm but was locked so I knocked on the door. it seemed through the window that someone was in there so I waited a bit and tried again. Then, a man stormed out shouting German (which I don't speak). I kindly asked if there were rooms available tomorrow or the day after, to which he angrily replied no. Worst experience I've ever had with a hostel.

Thought the owner wanted to fight me

We needed a place for 7 nights for thetoyfair. We had a 1 room apartment with 3 beds, kitchen and bathroom. We only neededa place to sleep and that  wasoke. The interior wasvery basic, no shower curtain, pans or watercooker, no bedlamp but... the place was clean, we did sleep well and locatedclose to u-bahn, supermarket and city center. 

I chose this hostel because I was working at the exhibition in Nürenberg last November and I wanted to be both near the centre and close to the S-Bahn. The hostel is located in a very central area, near the underground and very peaceful at night, but the high cost for the stay do not compensate my expectations. The room was not very clean, the bathroom not well equipped and the doors of the bathrooms were out of order. I was disappointed.

Bad value for money

I like the cleanliness of the facilities. The owner (Nahiro) was very helpful with our reservation even though there were some confusions over our booking. He also recommended 2 good restaurants in the old town. the room was also very clean and comfortable and was close to the old center of town.

We recommend Hostel nürnberg!

Do not trust this place with your reservation.  We showed up on a cold December Saturday night just past 6 and they tried telling us we didn't have reservations.  I pulled the printed confirmation out of my bag and they told us that we arrived so late they thought we were not going to show up so they gave away our room.  We showed up just past 6!  We had also reserved a room with our credit card.  The guy working the hostel was a real scumbag.  He tried putting us in one of his other places 15 minutes out of town and for almost double the cost.  It was the total bait and switch.  The guy showed no remorse and couldn't understand why we didn't want to stay so far out of town for twice the cost.  We caught him several lies starting with him claiming we didn't have a reservation.

My wife and I moved to Europe a year ago and travel about every weekend so we are experienced European travelers and well aware of local customs.  We stay at a wide variety of hotels from 1 star to 5 star.  We have definitely had some bad experiences with a couple hotels, but they were all understandable, and we have never posted a negative review until this.  We got stranded in Nürnberg on a cold December night during their popular Christmas festival.  DO NOT let it happen to you!
