The hotel complex consists of several single buildings (Waterkant, Strandvilla Eilts, and apartments), which are connected to each other via various floors and staircases. The Waterkant building is the oldest, whereas Strandvilla Eilts rooms seemed to be recently renovated. The little seawater indoor pool and saunas are located in the center of the building complex. Everything was remarkably clean and tidy. Breakfast buffet was small but fulfilled all purposes. We booked the hotel only one week in advance. Even in peak season the price was reasonable and the location itself is perfect. Norderney is easy to access from Germany Mainland via a short ferry trip. Besides the Milchbar and the North Beach, the island meant nothing special to us. Smoking was allowed nearly in every corner of the hotel, which seems quite weird nowadays. However the whole island made some backward impression which is not only applicable to smoking. Therefore if you really want to go to Norderney, we recommend Waterkant, especially if you want to save some money and stay in a clean and good located hotel.
