Hotel Sankt Georg

My sister and I traveled across northern Germany, following the path of our Great Grandparents. That put us in Neubrandenburg for four nights. We chose the Sankt Georg strictly on looks. Sometimes that works. This time it was terrific. Up-to-date modern facilities, all the amenities in a small friendly setting, with a Medievel church in the front yard. Excellent German cuisine! The western gate of the city is a five-minute walk. The Tollense See is ten minutes. After a day of exploring, coming back to the hotel was like coming home. But, as is always the case, the hotel staff made all the difference. In a region where English is not a second language, Kai Trotzke welcomed us, listened to us, advised us, and befriended us. He was the perfect host. And I watched him treat each and every one of the guests with similar personal care and concern. We stayed in five hotels from Berlin to Hamburg. None matched the Sankt Georg. Excellent breakfast, parking right outside your door. Internet in the lobby, which is made to feel like your livingroom. None of the more expensive hotels across northern Germany lived up to their claims of in-room internet access.
