I (22m) took my teenage brother (15) to Munich for a trip and knew Meininger was good from the hostel/hotel they used to have in London, so I booked 3 nights. Affordable, friendly bilingual staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, their reputation holds up! Although the additional paperwork required for an under 18 staying with someone who isn’t their parents was an unexpected rule I hadn’t spotted on the website, the staff were kind and allowed us to of course fill this out at booking in (sending the appropriate forms to our parents). Despite the rule being frustrating to us, I understand why it’s there, and believe the additional safeguards to children are important, even if these feel more stringent than perhaps necessary; so my review stands at a 5. If all Meininger Houses have this standard, (considering Munich is the oldest one they have, I’d say it’s a safe bet), you can’t go far wrong booking Meininger
