We're very satisfied with the recommendations. We've only been there once, but we're going to come back again. Everything else is for the guests to figure out for themselves. Everyone has their own taste.

Delicious food

-When we arrived at 14:35, we were escorted to the outside door (if not thrown out) to wait in the car at a temperature of around 0°C because the arrival time was at 15:00 -the excuse being that the room was not ready (at 14:35!!!). We could have waited in the small entrance hall at the corner of the fire or even had a drink at the restaurant but we were literally thrown out by someone who only knew German (not even English). -Moreover, the staff only knew very little English. -No wifi even contrary to what was indicated.

Don't give me advice

The location of the hotel is quite good. Very quiet, the rooms are big, clean and furnished, the bathrooms are quite recent. I don't like those shower curtains but that's a personal preference. Wi-Fi is quite bad, couldn't get real access unless sitting by the repeater. I had no mobile network whatsoever. we had dinner in the restaurant, it's quite small with bit tables so you felt a bit exposed. The food is basic German so you can't really go wrong with it. Staff was a bit absent. I can't agree that the manager is not nice, she is not the warmest person but she did her job. Breakfast was ok, a shame that they just had about 3 fried sausages but other you had a bit of everything. All in all a place you can go to, if you don't want hassle

Rooms are fine and food is ok

Great place to eat authentic German cuisine.  We stumbled upon it on a "road trip' and were pleasantly surprised.  The staff were welcoming and when you see the "locals" eating in the restaurant, you know the food is good!

Excellent Food, Superbe location in the heart of history.

Wi-Fi, free all over the place, but it doesn't work. Good price ratio, good breakfast buffet, pretty small but comfortable room, but only TV with German channels.

Good hotel to stay in

The Hotel Perlenau is a wonderfully quiet place in a small valley. There was a fireplace in the entrance area, very inviting. The dinner tasted good for all, 6 people. Unfortunately, our room was ice cold and was not pleasantly warm until the next day. But what led to a bad review for me is the fact that we were sent to bed at 11:00 p.m. We were severely locked out of the whole restaurant/breakfast room/lobby area. We sat down with our friends comfortably and were sent quite unfriendly. The coronation was the next morning. From 8:15 a.m. it was very early. We were down at 8:10, and we had to eat breakfast with all the other guests until 8:15 a.m. and then we were seriously locked out of the whole restaurant/breakfast room/lobby area. Nice hotel, good food, but you're treated like you're in a youth hostel.

Although my room was renovated, the hotel has come of age and deserves a star at most. The cleanliness was insufficient (hair on the stretcher, hair and dust on the shelf next to the bed), there was no table to put anything on, the roof window had no roll, there were only three TV stations (ARD, RTL, Belgian broadcaster), no cell phone reception, dinner was okay, but nothing special, only that they reluctantly serve me something other than what is included in the standard price (though it is cheaper), for breakfast cheap backbreaks, noise pollution from my private room next door, unfriendly chef.

Not recommended

I stayed here during a cycling holiday and it's in a very scenic setting.  The staff were nice and were patient with me even though I know hardly any words in German.  Free wifi was also great.

The only minor negative point for me was that at check-in it all seemed a bit rushed as I feel it's nice to get a map or some indo.  I had a room on the top floor and with a hard day's cycling could have used a hand with my pannier. bags but the (male) employee didn't offer. It wasn't a big deal but not five stars for service.

Picturesque hotel

A large building on the Montjoie-Montjoie Trail of Remembrance (Belgium). Simple but tasty cuisine. A bemool: the establishment offers no German wine... but Italians.

On the Rur

We stayed for a couple of nights here base dupon reviews we had and previous experience of Monschau .  this is a unique place set in woodlands with a great walk to this lovely town set in three valleys.  Great rooms, welcoming staff and a bar as well as great food.  As long as the hunting lodge decor (and associated animals) doesnt bother you, i woudl recommend this to all as a great base to explore Monschau from
