Just landed on this page and decided to add a comment. We stay in this place once or twice per year over 11 years! Perfect calm place, nice interior garden, swimming pool,
very friendly atmosphere. We arrived first with 9-months old son, we still come with 11-years old. Ideal for staying few days in Minden for enjoying the surroundings as well as for one night stay.

I have stayed during the summer several times in Hotel Silke. 
Location: Hotel Silke has a great location, close to the Minden city center and shopping street. 
Even though rooms and common areas are reflecting totally 80s style -which is the reason that 1 star has dropped-  hotel is run in a really clean condition. Regarding the ambience, there is still room for improvement; renovation is necessary.
Facilities:Hotel Silke has a really calming and nice garden that would be enjoyable in summer season;and also a swimming pool and sauna.
Breakfast: Breakfast with fresh pressed juice, which was included in price, is pretty satisfactory.
Internet: Free internet is also in the price but accessable only in the main building.

I think if you would like to stay in Minden, this is the hotel you would like to try.

Nice Clean Hotel, Great Location, Kind People, Nice Breakfast

We love it

This hotel is fine. Good location not far from the centre.  Rooms are spotless and comfortable.  Wi-Fi worked well in the room. Bathroom was nice and modern and again very clean.  Continental breakfast was nice and fresh and plenty of it.  Lounge area is a bit tired but fine.  Didn’t use the pool as didn’t have enough time.  Hotel was ok, a little tired in the public areas and no evening meal or bar facilities.

Comfortable & Clean

Hotel is very silent, good for older people, very good location close to centrum. Equipment in the main hall looks good if you like old style. Rooms are partially modern (furniture), partially old (bathroom). Breakfast is continental, you will get coffe/tea, egg, ham, bun, juice directly on your table. Internet not working well on the room, only in the hall. Compare to other hotels in Minden where I was I can say about Silke:

- breakfast - poor
- room - average
- price - high

Great location close to centrum, not good ratio quality/price.

The hotel is simple & small. Tucked a little away from the city center and on a slope; which makes reaching the city center a little difficult. The owner is very supportive. Breakfast is good. Good value for money.

Budget hotel, can be skipped

This is a small hotel and is managed by the owners themselves. The hotel is neat & clean and is near to city center. Breakfast is especially good and the owner makes some fresh fruit juices. the hotel is near to Melitta and ABB offices
