Unusually we decided to have a stop over on our drive from Austria to the UK and Merzig was the winning town! I found this guest house on a hotel booking site and liked the look of it. It is in the centre of the town with a stream running by it and on street parking right outside. When we arrived we went into the restaurant to check in. The owner and staff were very friendly and one of the younger members showed us to our room. She was very friendly and explained everything in German which was great, as everyone seems to speak English and wants to speak English. The room was a small double and had an outdoor patio with table and chairs which was lovely as the weather had really warmed up. The bathroom was clean with a good shower. A great little place for an overnight stay.
