Lindau is charming and the Hotel Schreier is right on the lakeside promenade and close to all the other the town’s attractions. There are lots of dining options within an easy walk. We had one room with a lake view and another overlooking the garden. Both were spacious, comfortable and quiet. Be prepared though to take your luggage up the stairs - there’s no lift. The very friendly receptionist, Silvi, helped us carry our bags up. (Silvi was very helpful and friendly generally). One of the attractions of Lindau is that the centre is pedestrianised. This means no parking at the hotel. But this wasn’t an issue for us. The hotel has four parking spots about five minutes walk away. We were able to unload about 30 metres from the hotel and then move the car to one of the parking spots. Given the limited number, remember to ask for one when you make your reservation. The bill came to €465 for two large, comfortable rooms for four of us for a night including a buffet breakfast which included delicious scrambled eggs.
