Hotel Jan van Werth

A very comfortable room, in between the main train station and the city center. You can walk almost everywhere in Koblenz because it's quite small and this was a good location, about 8 minutes walk from the main shopping areas, and maybe around 10-12 from the historic city center. As this was a business trip necessary in the middle of the pandemic, I had no contact whatsoever with the hotel owners. I was able to retrieve my key from an automatic box out front and made my way easily to my room. This was very comfortable (very comfy mattresses!) and spotlessly clean. The small tea and coffee station came in handy. I cannot comment on the soundproofing because I think there may only have been one or two other people staying there. But the double-glazed windows certainly shut out all the noise from outside. This is more like a guesthouse or family-run hotel than your average run of the mill chain and having stayed in one of those last week, this somehow felt a little nicer. When travelling during a pandemic, those long chain-hotel corridors can be a bit creepy and staying at this cosy, warm, smaller hotel was a lovely change - even if I never saw a soul the whole 3 days.
