146 reviewsHonestly, expectations were low when we arrived at this hotel. The quirky name (Romantik Parkhotel), and previous experiences at half-faded castle hotels, had us check in with a high degree of skepticism - we only chose the hotel as we on short notice had to rearrange a long-awaited booked stay in the Netherlands due to increased Covid-alerts/restrictions there. How wrong we could be: The Romantik Parkhotel is a jewel! First, the castle is really well kept up. Part of it is a museum, part is hotel, and then there is a great restaurant just on the park waters. Interesting to walk around in the common rooms and take in old world history. Also, the hotel room was comfortable, with a nice garden view. But then tere was the restaurant, that really topped the surpise list: Very high quality, excellent and attentive service, and an impressively deep and broad wine list! We were so happy for this accidental stop-over, and will definitely recommend it as a vantage point for exploring the border areas between Germany and the Netherlands.
