Hotel Regina

We arrived early and were just planning to ask if we could leave our bags early as we had to drop off our rental care before check in but to our surprise we were told a room was ready and we could check in! The start of a very nice stay. Bonus: we got to meet their dog who is adorable! The room and bathroom were both a good size. There was an armoire to hang clothes as well as a coat rack and small bench near the door. The room had a desk if needed as well. My favorite was the towel warmer in the bathroom! It was also a really good size so we were able to hand wash some of our laundry and leave it to dry which was great. Being able to open the windows for some fresh air was also great as the weather was really great for December. The breakfast had a good selection and the woman who works in the breakfast room was very friendly. There are only a few tables so that could be an issue if too many people head down at the same time, we didn’t run into that issue during our stay though. Now to probably the best part: the location!! Within walking distance to Bismarckplatz for bus & tram use and right at the end of Hauptstraße. We were in town for Christmas Markets and some sightseeing and it was such a great location. It was so nice being able to walk back and forth with ease between activities or even just to run back if we forgot something. We were incredibly happy with our stay and would 100% choose Hotel Regina again when visiting Heidelberg. With that being said if you are someone looking for a trendy hotel with a huge flatscreen this isn’t the stay for you, but I find that a great staff and location are much more valuable more often than not. We did not need parking but if you do have a car the street parking looked a bit tight in the area.
