Spartan-equipped, bright-eyed, not very clean hostel (e.g. mold in the bathroom). I felt so uncomfortable that after a night, so earlier, I left - no refund possible (booking via a portal). Service was inadequate for me: I had asked in advance in writing for a quiet room to the backyard, because in front of the hostel a large federal road and across the track from the railway and the S-Bahn. When I checked in, they still wanted to give me a room to the street because the ticket was obviously no longer on the screen. But I could at least reach the wrong checkpoint with my email address. Also, the reception code was given to me. I had also found that after the hostel there was another hostel, and I would not be able to check in with anyone else. I also had to check out the hostel without having to check out a room.

Not to recommend - I've traveled earlier

It's a fake. The hostel is in an old apartment that looks very comfortable. We had booked an eight-bedroom, and we used the community bathroom. The room was still garbage from the previous occupants on the floor and under the bed (bottles, etc.) On the dessert were still glass windows. There were only two of three showers. One of them we couldn't even finish and it was really dirty. The only positive thing is the situation.

Just bad.

It's a good 10 minutes walk to the subway and right by the fair. The guys at the reception are very nice. But the community kitchen was just renovated, couldn't be used. The rooms are very bright, you think the neighbor is sitting in his own room. Too expensive for the performance.

Poor price performance ratio

I've traveled a lot, and I've also been to Asia, where the standard doesn't always match our values, but what we've seen here doesn't work. The B8 took over the former Night Lodge, but not the bookings for it. That means a lot of phone calls in advance and clarifying what's happened to the booking. It wasn't that easy either, because it was almost impossible to get someone on the phone, especially since it's not known that the original hotel doesn't exist anymore. Finger off the hostel

The room was very clean, the shared bathroom was also clean. This is a very simple lodging for a low-budget trip. The location was very convenient in Rotherbaum which is a wonderful neighborhood.. The staff-person I met was very friendly and helpful.
If you don't expect amenities and comforts you won't be disappointed.

very simple, not for comfort seekers...

The room is fine and clean and for 30€/night I'd be happy, but at 86€ I don't want a communal toilet that smells like pee, brightly lit rooms and high frequency subway tracks as well as the federal road in front of the window.

You can do it... but not at the price.

Room was dark, as the windows faced another building that was too close to allow sunlight to get in. But the place was spacious and clean. Service very friendly and helpful. Would rent the room again.

affordable and nice

We were two and a night to visit. The check-in went great - very friendly staff. The rooms are clean but very spartanly decorated and extremely bright. If you have a light sleep, you can't sleep at all because there's always someone on the hallway because of nine or 10 rooms. Kitchen and bathroom are available and with the most necessary but also very spartan decoration. Good for one or two nights and only for overnight.

The pictures of their website do not reflect the truth at all.
At least the room was clean and I was lucky to get a room not facing the main road and the train tracks. On could call the building and the rooms having some kind of an atmosphere, but in my opinion there is nothing done with care or love. 
The building is not soundproofed but everybody during my stay seems to regard that.

I stayed one night and I didn't spend to much time in the room.

Not good enough for average

We stayed here for 3 nights. From the hostel, Hamburg's various districts are also very easy to explore on foot. For everything else, public transport is easy to reach. The hostel itself has a nice old building floor, including high ceilings and loving furnishings. This includes, of course, also a certain clarity inside the house. Our room was in the yard, so no street noise was heard. This was already well filled with the bed, but just in terms of cost-effectiveness. But perhaps nothing for travelers who approached their room layout demandingly.
