I came here for dinner and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the hot rock steak, where i prepared my own steak according to how i wanted it, absolutely a must try for those visiting anywhere close to here, this place is a hidden gem and way too underrated. Highly recommend visiting the ritterkellar and ordering the "steak vom heißen Stein".

we stayed in this hotel for one night without having booked in advance. the reception was efficient but maybe more important very friendly. service with a smile. the same was the case with the service during breakfast and on leaving. an unexpected stay that turned out to be a pleasant experience in this typical german hotel.

Dinner in The " ritterkellar"

I spent only one night in this hotel in January and it was a real nightmare for me. Location is perfect as it is directly opposite the railway station. Hotel and rooms are nice and clean, staff is friendly, unfortunately heating didn´t work in my room and there was no hot water in the shower. It was -5C in the night so you can imagine how frozen I was, I had to sleep in my winter coat, gloves and hat and I was still so cold that I wasn´t able to fall asleep. I couldn´t complain because the receptionist did not speak english at all and it was hard job even to check in :-/

Nice hotel, good location, frozen guest

We had 3 rooms for 2 nights. First night wonderful waitress who was also desk receptionist but confusion about getting food. We agreed to 8:00 dinner in the tavern and looked forward to oompah band advertised on their website. 8:00 we were the only people in the tavern- no band. At checkout time today we were informed cash only. It's posted the hotel accepts credit card and a credit card held the reservation. Also beware: Wifi was not working. 
Great town! Saw the museum and glockenspiel our grandfather (Willi Gabriel) had helped bring to the town. Dragon play delightful!! Will come back to the town but not to this hotel.
