Hartungs Hoteldorf

The hotel Dorf is located on Hopfensee lake in a tranquil alpine setting at the foot of the alps. The hotel is located a sprawling series of buildings spread over a large area. This is a hotel where the type of room you book makes a huge difference! We reserved an apartment room (they have “hotel rooms” and “apartment rooms”)- our room had a separate living room, a very large bedroom, a huge bathroom a kitchenette with a 2 burner hotplate, full size refrigerator and all of the silverware and dishes/pans you could ever need- but oddly no microwave oven or regular oven. We also had a balcony with a beautiful view of the Alps. We did notice that some rooms do not have views other than the parking lot (these are less expensive), so definitely be specific in what you would like. The décor and furnishings are very reminiscent of an alpine lodge and everything very well done and clean (there is no room service during your stay however). The restaurant offers a wonderful traditional German breakfast with a huge variety of hot and cold dishes, meats, cheeses, breads and pretty much anything you could hope for. All of the staff- both at reception and in the restaurants are helpful friendly and professional. The hotel offers a very large indoor heated pool, full spa, sauna, gift shop , bar, laundry facilities and parking (open or enclosed) for no additional charge. Also, the hotel is very close to Mt Tegelberg with its aerial tram and luge and the hotel is also very close to the Austrian border. Overall this hotel is a wonderful choice when you are traveling in this part of Germany and we would not hesitate to return!
