Hotel Garni Goldener Hirsch

Hotel is run as gasthaus, so no night reception is available, however our connecting flight to Friedrichshafen arrived only at 10pm and we were able to arrive just before 11pm. I made a call to reception and told our schedule and extremely polite lady promised to wait for us. Made a very quick sign in and enjoyed our stay in slightly out dated rooms, which were anyway with nice South German style interior. Hotel is located right in the center within very short walk to the lakeshore and park. At the corridor there was a refrigerator that had beer, sot drinks and water so that one can have drink during the night and just write a receipt for himself and pay when checking out. Complimentary internet was ok. We took sigle rooms but were given double rooms anyway. During night hours one can enter only with room key to the premises. Breakfast room was small, but so was the entire hotel so all tenants had their own table, offering was generous enough, I specially enjoyed their insanely delicious schwarzwald ham and great selection of freshly baked bread. At their restaurant we enjoyed a nice German meals (try their schwaben schnitzel, you should not leave without having that once), great service and pleasant calm atmosphere. There are amazingly little choice of German cuisine in Friedrichshafen, but Goldener Hirsch had one just downstairs. All in all, for less than 60€/room/night, just brilliant choice comparing to soulles Holiday Inn or Ibis nex to the runway!
