Hotel America

Great location close to the A6, A62 and Ramstein Air Base. Big Emma restaurant is located next door, as well as other food options within a short walk. The hotel will take pets for an additional one time cleaning fee which is nice. Our room had no air conditioning, but did have a ceiling fan and a floor fan. Even though it was chilly at night, the room did not get real cold. It was comfortable though. We had a room on the ground floor with a small patio table and chairs. The hotel also has a nice outdoor area with a gazebo and tables and chairs to enjoy. There was a small work table and a higher table in the room. There was a small TV and the room had good free internet. We also had a small refrigerator for leftovers. They do have one German Washer and German Dryer located on the second floor. You need tokens which are 2 Euro and that will get you one wash, or one dry. They are not large machines though, and took a bit to get used to. Plan at least an hour for a wash cycle and up to 90 minutes to dry. Front desk and service staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They close up at 9 PM and open back up after 6am. You can pre-arrange for an early checkout if you need it. The morning breakfast is buffet style with several things to offer with some items changing every day. They had fresh fruits, fresh breads, meats and cheeses, various salads and vegetables, and scrambled eggs, with a rotating selection of sausages, potatoes or noodles. They had juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal, nuts, other breads with your choice of several toppings. There were some nice walking trails nearby, some paved, and others unpaved through the woods. There is an auto mechanic next door, which can get a little noisy during the day. Also, the restaurant that is located next door has the kitchen out the back of the hotel. If you have a room on the back, you could get some noise from the kitchen doing cleaning at night.
