Unfortunately, we had a room on the side of the road, which was very busy, even at night. So it was not possible to open it because it was very loud. When the window was closed, the room became very warm and clogged. So the night was not so comfortable. So it was better to take a room on the side. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was not so good either. Even 55€ a night you can expect the bed sheets and towels to have no holes, the garbage can is properly emptied and cleaned, the dark fingerprints on the door are removed and the shower is clean. Breakfast was OK for 7€. We wouldn't recommend the hotel further.

Cleanliness Could Be Better

The communication by mail with Mr. Bonna was brief, brief and very friendly. It was also no problem to change the desired booking from five to two nights, as for business reasons we could not take a vacation and so we were only in the weekend. From the outside the hotel is hardly recognizable as such. It looks more like a multi-family house and it was indeed a time. We arrived late in the evening. The reception is not occupied for 24 hours, but we received a code by mail to get into the house. The key was in the early opening room. Everything was very small, but fine. It was nice to walk around. The room was on the main road, which you could not walk around, although you could only walk in the early morning window, there was a lot of money in there. Unfortunately, there was also a few days in the hotel, and the bathroom was very cold, but unfortunately, you could not see anything, except for a few minutes, and the room was very clean, and I could not say anything except for a few minutes, and the bathroom was very nice.

Invisible and small, but fine.

Small, simple, but beautiful boarding house. Very good location if you want to go to the King Pilner Arena in Oberhausen like we did. The rooms are small, but fine and clean, modern and fully furnished. Good price-performance. Despite the direct road location, there was no traffic. Parking is free near the boarding house. Nice staff, we would love to come back.

The B&B, which is somewhat unobtrusive from the outside, offers a pleasant stay.The staff is very friendly. The room was quiet and clean. In the morning there was a rich, good breakfast to start the day well. The B&B is highly recommended!

Cheap and good B&B!

This is a pleasant B&B. Filling continental breakfast buffet (though if you arrive late, you may not have many choices). Owner friendly and helpful. Clean and large rooms with lots of natural light, large bathroom. Convenient for train from central station, though tram was down while I was visiting (replacement bus only). 5-8 minutes walk to a large Aldi. 

Recommend checking the tram/train/bus schedules if you'll be out at night, as public transport after 10pm is very infrequent until midnight (and then stops). 

Not really a non-smoking property, as there is a smoking room on the first floor - the door is often left open (I think by the staff), so there is a strong smell of smoke in hallways and landings, and smoke also seeps into rooms under the doors. 

Located on a busy road, but right in front of bus/tram stop. Property is still quiet despite location. No hairdryer in bathrooms (though booking.com listed this as included) and some of the towels smelled a bit damp. 

Booking.com stated check-out time as 11am (which is one of the reasons I booked the property). However, on my final day, two cleaning ladies came to my room at 10:40am demanding that I leave immediately so they could clean the room. 

Not possible to walk to city centre from the B&B, and it is on the opposite side of the wider Essen-area from key sights (like Kettwig, Essen-Werden, and Villa Hugel). Not an issue if you have a car, but time-consuming and inconvenient if you're relying on public transport. Essen city centre is unpleasant - not worth a visit on its own. 

I didn't have a bad stay here, but I don't know that I would stay again.

Pleasant B&B, though not quite as amazing as the ratings indicate

There's fresh fruit and vegetables at breakfast, a little dust in the room, clean and well-equipped bathrooms, nice staff, two nights with breakfast, two people for 140 euros, it's okay! Smoking room is available! W-Lan is great!

Weekends are fine.

Rooms overlooking the back are clean and spacious. View of the garden. Lunch with plenty of choice and plenty of room. Common space in the garden. Small terrace for breakfast. Friendly staff at breakfast. There was no one at the arrival but the keys were available and the entrance code sent by email and text.

I was in transit to see the car markets, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, I had taken nothing to eat and it is located 1 minute from two discount supermarkets, and it's 7 minutes from the car market or I had to get to it it's a nearby hotel with not much room, so it was really quiet and the little plus it was the terrace that I had really top reception staff so there's nothing to complain about!

very good hotel

Hotel in convenient location, 5 minutes walk from the S9 essen geishede stop, very close to the tram 103, which leads to the center. Very clean, and staff very kind and available. Large wifi, works very well throughout the structure. I sit in a quiet neighborhood, 500 m there are restaurants and supermarkets, as well as a bank and post office. Negative: very expensive breakfast (should be included), many stairs (I was on the third floor), steep and without elevator, and on Sunday there is no changing of towels and bathroom services. Very negative the lack of comfort of the bed, there is no sheets, the huge pillow and the backed mattress.
