8 reviewsWe arrived here as a group of ten having walked from the Hotel Heidehof and received a warm welcome. Our table was laid up in the hotel restaurant which appears to double as a pub for the locals. The chef/patron and his wife took good care of us, assisted by cheerful and efficient staff. We were not offered a choice - the chef insisted we would have a great meal made with local produce and be very happy. He said we would not need a starter and offered a choice of pork or chicken. It arrived with huge portions of seasonal vegetables and a large green salad. My chicken was delicious and the rest of the group were well satisfied too. We ordered several bottles of wine with the meal. After we had finished the main course I asked what desserts were available. The chef (who had spent a year in Morecombe during his training!) again appeared and mimed what he was going to serve, with assurances that it would be the best! We had a sort of Eton Mess with some chocolate - plenty of cream and fruit and overall very pleasant. Before we left we were all given a complimentary digestif and a bar of chocolate. The cost excluding wine was 30 euros a head. We trudged back to our hotel very pleased with our evening which had given us a taste of German hospitality.
