Von-Dalberg-Hof

This was our second stay. On our first stay we discovered how easy it is to reach by train. A 15 minute walk from Deidesheim station will get you to this delightful location. You will find an enclosed gravelled farm courtyard with the main house occupied by the owners. Presumably what were the stables and outbuildings have undergone a remarkable transformation, and now contain a number of immaculate apartments. Bright and breezy, all are self-contained. Polished wooden floors, fully fitted kitchens, walk in wardrobes and a huge bathroom were the highlights for us in a double apartment. Hairdryer included. There is a similarly equipped family apartment and a variety of other configurations. Organic breakfast is available but not included; try it once and you'll go every day. Although not high on the tourist trail the village is surrounded by vineyards and well situated on the wine route. Also, an hours drive from a number of attractive cities. The draw for us is the popular Diedesheim Winefest; no driving required just head back in the direction of the station...you can't miss it. The walk back may take longer but you will not get lost! For supplies you will walk past the supermarket from the station, don't forget your shampoo.
