A local recommended this restaurant to us when we were staying in St Goar. It's a short drive away (up a very steep hill!), but we were so glad we made the effort to find it. The owner welcomed us like long lost friends and really set the tone for the evening. Despite there being 8 of us (including 4 noisy children), the service was prompt (especially compared with the glacial speed of the other restaurants we'd tried in St Goar) and the food was excellent. Many of the local restaurants seem to have a very limited typically German menu which is fine for the first couple of meals, but wears thin after 3 days of eating out at lunch and dinner. Although the food is German cuisine, there was much more variety, including a couple of excellent fish dishes. We were just sad we only found this little gem on our last evening!
