16 reviewsStayed here for 4 nights in November 2017, amazing vale at 50 quid per night. The location is perfect for me as I have family who live in the next street, Prenzlauer Berg being the trendiest area of Berln, the area is buzzing until 3 or 4 in the mornning at weekends. Right outside your door you will find excellent, bars, coffe shops, restaurants of all kinds, supermarkets and the Eberswalder Strasse Subway Station a three minute walk away. I stayed in room number 4, its to the rear of the building and faces into a small courtyard. The room was more then enough for me, with two people you would need to put your bags under the bed. Small shower room with an excellent power shower, heating was great and the wifi was pretty good. Wifi across Berlin is never that brilliant, its a Berlin thing!! The bed was comfortable and Rolf supplies a kettle and coffee. Rooms are all on the ground floor with access gained through a large typical German entrance to flats. The building is old, build around 1850 I think? Its full of charm and character, very Germanic. Once you go through the court yard, you go through another door giving access to the rooms on the right. I think there are only about 6 rooms, so they tend to sell pretty quickly. I found a mix of people staying there, young people, singles and couples as well as old farts like me. The Pensions for part of residential flats, so its quiet, safe and secure. Ive based this review on my own experience and I really cant fault the place, nor the owned Ralf, he was helpful and welcoming. As I said before, Eastside Pensions offer exceptional value for money, close to major attractions like Brandenburg, Museum Island and the Reichstag, all a few stops away on the subway. Heaps of place to eat from cheap to inexpensive with much international food on offer. Best thing about this area ---- NOT a KCF, McDonalds, Burger King or Starbucks in sight. Turn left when you leave the building and REWE supermarket is 100M away, great selection of beers and German/International food offering good value. I will stay here again for sure. Final point, please don't be put of with the graffiti outside, its Berlin art !
