26 reviewsTravelers familiar with DJH Hostels in Germany will feel comfortable at this Jugendherberge. There are two buildings, the older of which had origins during the rise of the NSDAP, and a newer chalet style dorm. I traveled with an undergraduate group who found all their accommodations clean and bright. We booked the daily breakfast which was a fresh European assortment style buffet. There were several couples/family/ single rooms on upper floors that had bathrooms ensuite and were spacious by hostel standards, and clean. There are the typical Spartan entertainment amenities in the game rooms (ping pong, fooseball, etc). It's a hostel. I want inexpensive but good clean beds, and a chance to meet friendly travelers. My recent trip there found our student group outmatched by several young families. But a good night's rest was had by all. Staff were competent and friendly. If there is a downside (and there is) It's the 1.7 Km walk down the hill to the Central train station, and the bit more walk into town center... and at night going back up it can be cold dark country walk up that hill (Hint: cab from Hbf is quick- about 7 euro ride). During the day there's a nearby bus. All in all. If you know the DJH experience, you'll enjoy the rest here.
