We spent two wonderful and quiet nights here on New Year's Eve. We were very kindly received and accompanied to our room, which is located in the main track of the monastery at the end of a long, wide corridor. It is spacious, decorated with old details and clean. The back area is a little dark because the balcony window (in the courtyard, therefore very quiet) is in front. The ceiling was lit, the dessert lamps brought enough light. The room with a spacious shower is separated from the bathroom with a bathroom door and clean. The reception area was also very clean and tidy. The breakfast was also always free, the costs were reimbursed. Many thanks to the hotel staff.

Nice hotel in the old walls.

I booked a double room thru Expedia for 31 12 2019 for 169 E;
The room which was given to me did not correspond to the photo on my voucher. This hotel is composed of 2 buildings. We were given a room in the 'cheapest' building and probably one of the worst of the building : it was under the roof, small, without any phone, witn a leaking shower and with a metallic part of the shower door which did not hold and fell !. Also limited soft pillow !!!
The room we were given was worth at most 50 euros. 
I complained that I have been cheated. They told me they had the right to do whatever price they want : proof that I have been cheated !
Meanwhile I complained to an unpleasant man (at 19h20), a girl phoned (probably to the boss) and told me afterwards they had no other room available and that I could leave now without paying anything. Of course it was impossible as it was late ! The fact that I have been cheated is demonstrated by the fact that the girl told that no better room was available.

So I discourage anybody to go there ; this hotel is dishonest :

We were positively surprised by the hotel!
The hotel rooms are modern, but the bathrooms are on the small side which may be a problem for people with mobility issues or people of size.

The location is also great, being in the centre of town, easily accessible by car. You get a 50% discount for parking adjacent to the hotel.

Breakfast was a great value for 9€pp with a vast choice of breads, cold cuts, even salmon and prosecco if you’re so inclined.
Staff was very warm and friendly too!
Amazing value for what we’ve paid!
9/10 would recommend!

Quaint hotel, great breakfast, central but small showers

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff, rooms very clean, super-rich breakfast, and also very friendly staff, which was very attentive.

Nice hotel in good condition

The room (No. 71) did not correspond to the photos presented, rather spacious but too monastic (no decor, white walls). The only 2 pillows were very thin and dirty under the covering (yellow tasks). The water room, 1.5 x 1.5 m much too demanding, very summarised comfort. The window, double glazed, rattled with moisture, several moist tasks... The positive points: quiet situation close to the city accessible on foot.

Our room was in an annex building on the top floor. The hotel is located in a steep cul-de-sac. The parking lot can only be reached after an explanation at the reception. Everything goes up steeply on cobblestones. There are lifts in the building itself. The reception was occupied by a friendly staff. The room and bathroom were large enough. There was a box spring bed. The breakfast was excellent. The price/performance ratio was top. We'd love to come back. There was a drinking station on a trust basis.

Located on one of the seven hills of Bamberg

I've been traveling a little less than 10 years. The last 3 years in a car all over Europe. Despite the presence of a small breastfed baby, he became an apple of contention. We got to Bamberg by car from Prague to Munich. In the evening of the options were few and the website hotels.com offered a room for 4 adults and a baby (3 months old) for four people. The choice was few and we agreed, especially the baby sleeps with me!

One of the most disgusting hotels in my travel history!!!!!

The Arkaden Hotel is a cozy, quiet hotel just above the old town in the old monastery. The rooms are clean, partly very historically furnished. Service and breakfast buffet are good to very good. The quiet location, parking lots in front of the monastery and a medium walk down to the old town are the strengths of the house. A highly recommended neighborhood in Bamberg.

We had a reservation for the day of September 10, 2019, when we arrived at the reception by the key and when we got out of the car to get into the premises, a woman who said her name was Mrs. Martin and that she would be her hotel arrived in the car, who pointed at my son - who was next to his mother - and stood by shouting that we couldn't enter and that we should hand him the keys to our room immediately, since there were no people with disabilities.

A total discrimination against my son with limited mobility.

Small room, poorly furnished with poorly arranged furniture. Small bed (width 140 cm instead of the 150 declared on Booking) leaning to a side wall (so my wife to get up and down the bed had to climb over me), hotel parking open to the public with extreme difficulty finding free places, summarizing bathroom cleaning during the stay (3 nights).
