Junker van der Spekken

This is our third visit to Hotel Junker van da Spekken, a small hotel with only six rooms and fabulous homely restaurant which serves a wonderful buffet breakfast and locally produced evening dinners. The small resort offers wonderful walks around the lake with a circuit of approximately thirteen kilometres through woodland. There is also a pleasure cruiser giving trips around the lake with stop off stages, allowing you to select the distance of your hike. The town its self has a fine selection of restaurants and small cafes where you can buy fine coffee and apple kooken and a wonder delicatessen selling a vast selection of German sausage, also a fish delicatessen selling the famous smoked fish and eels. All round a perfect place to spend a short break visiting outlying villages with a taste of Germany not normally visited.
