Lahntalhotel Feudingen

Lahntal Hotel is in the small town of Feudingen, a few kilometers from the slightly larger town of Bad Laasphe - both of which are located in one of the most lovely, rural and undisturbed part of Germany. The Lahntal has huge rooms with delightful sitting areas and most have balconies. Ask for a room at the end of the corridor and you will have a view over fields, half-timbered houses, a small stream, and beautiful misty morning hills. The owner, Herr Birklebach, is a jovial man, anxious to help and ready to please, which adds an extra dimension to your stay. Breakfasts are marvelous - in addition to the variety of breads, cold meats, cheeses, fruits (and an old fashioned orange presser with which to make your own fresh oj if you want to), you get a choice of freshly prepared eggs any way you like them - try the omelet, it's fantastic! There is free, onsite parking. There are plans to build a small swimming pool but as of May 2012, this had not been started. There are not many restaurants in Feudingen so we ate in the hotel restaurant most nights of our 4 night stay and I also recommend this - hearty, well made and not overly expensive food - with a personal touch. If you want to experience the real, rural Germany - try this hotel. You won't be disappointed.
