I sometimes find it difficult to understand previous reviews and what some have found to complain about. I resently stayed at this Gasthof and found  it perfectly adequate for our needs. It was clean, tidy and the owners friendly.  Don't belive previous reviews there are no problems here. 

We went to several hotels around Füssen to compare amenities and prices and came across this one on trip advisor. We were so happy to find it! Not only was it the best priced, but it had the most included.

It is directly across from both of the castles, so we had a beautiful view of these and the mountains from our balcony. The apartment had a kitchen and dining table, bathroom and bedroom. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Good parking, breakfast included, all for a very good price. 

Some things to be aware of: there was no shower in our room, only a bathtub. There is a shower hose, but you aren't able to stand. Im not sure if that is in every room. This place is also located just outside of town, about a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk. (We had a vehicle so this was not an issue, we actually preferred it). Also, this place only accepts cash.

One minor issue we had was with the breakfast. The bread and croissants were very stale. Obviously several days old. It was disappointing because everything else was so great.

I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you have a vehicle. We had a great time.

Gastehaus Charlotte is  absolutely charming, cosy and very comfortable. It's a hotel with a family atmosphere. One can see Neuschwanstain Castle siiting at the terrace or in the breafast room. Breakfast is excellent. Rooms are cleaned perfectly. The owners of the guesthouse are very helpful and attentive to everyone.

A charming lodge style B&B with decent, clean rooms and free wifi. The views of the castles and the Alps are great. Breakfast is a cold buffet affair but plenty of it with bread, fruit, cereal, meats, cheeses and yoghurt on offer. The owners were friendly and helpful and could speak English which was good as our German was very basic. We travelled for the local Fussen marathon and on the day where we were not having breakfast they provided a lunch pack! Would stay there again.

This is a very handy base for visiting the area, you can see the 2 castles from some of the balconies.we were in 1 of 4 he apartments at the top -4 flights of stairs up (no lift) & VERY WARM- no air con, it would be good if the rooms had an electric fan - we took our own and definitely needed it.buy discount tickets from the owner for the Kristen spa round the corner it is fab and pretty cheap compared to uk prices. Be warned tho it is swim  gear in the pools downstairs but no clothes upstairs in the numerous saunas/steam rooms.the 2 owners of GC were very nice helpful and the place typically baverian. There seems to be a theme with insubstantial feather pillows thoughout the region &they would never get past lenny henry, although they look good on photos. We r planning to visit the area again and will stay there next time.not a lively nightlife in swangau evrrything seems to close at 10 pm but try the bauhous just up 4 the road it's a brewery they do an inexpensive evening buffett. the nearest Italian resturantis nice/reasonable too. I expected germany to be really expensive compared to the uk but actually prices were about the same but of course we were paying in euros rather than pounds so it was a lot cheaper for us. if u want something more lively stay at fussen . The castles are nice but take a hat n water if sunny. Please take the bus up the hills to the castles rather than those poor horses pulling carts. Bus costs about 2.60 euro return.castle entry was about  13 EU each and it costs 5 eu to park there.
