The maids did not always knock at the door before entry towels were not  always ready one time there was no bed sheet to cover myself the table had woodworm breakfast was not always available ontime and we had to vacate room by 12 which was not good

I have been to Badala Park many times over the years but not for a long time, everything was good until my last night, i had put D1000 in my passport to pay my fee at the airport, i needed to go to my room to get my charger & i was watching my friends rucksack while he was in the Mosque & breaking his fast, so i asked the bar man Ousman to look after the bags while i nipped to my room he put them behind the bar, the next morning when i was sorting all my things out i checked my passport & the money was gone !!! i told his boss but they are related & nothing was done, i will never go back again to Badala all the time he is working there.

They serve the same breakfast everyday.  There was no television in my room in time or relaxation in my room. They were asking for 200 dalasi a day to hire a fridge.  This is something that should be provided for guests to keep our drinks cold especially in the heat.  I do not think I will book that hotel again.

It is a good standard for a 2* hotel.  Good customer service.  Breakfast could have been more varied, but overall food is acceptable here.  Badala Park is surrounded by lush vegetation and is nice and quiet.  If you are looking for somewhere quiet, clean, away from the main tourist hub but in easy reach of it, and on a budget, this is the place for you.  However, do not expect all the benefits of a 3 or 4 Star hotel. I have been coming to The Gambia for work and holidays for 24 years and this is acceptable standard for me with not much to complain about.

Value for money good location good entertainment lovely breakfast wonderful staff.

Stayed there several times.but be careful some of the staff on arrival entrance can be too friendly. I fell into the trap Being a lady on her own was flattered at first But found out I was not the only one he used. So if your travelling alone Dont be taken in by the man on the Safe dept. Thhe lady before me vowed never to retun to Gambia after she rented an apartment for him and her. So single ladies dont rise to flattery like me.

Toilet would not flush for 5 weeks, complained daily - NOTHING DONE.
Bathroom flooded every night for 3 weeks, complained daily,  - NOTHING DONE.

Had meltdown one morning and threatened legal action, eventually sorted.

Food - absolutely awful, main meals sent out same time as starters.

Pool staff / gardeners - constantly scrounging cigarettes and asking for your phone numbers.

Waiters - always giving you a sob story and asking for money.

Management - non existent.

If you enter the gates of HELL, you get what you deserve!

We stayed at this hotel for 35 wonderful nights. We initially booked it for 8 nights as a last minute stop gap, but enjoyed it so much we decided to stay for the rest of our trip. My husband had looked online at some of the reviews so we knew some guests had had issues, but my suggestion would be to ignore all that 1st world nonsense and just relax and appreciate what a marvellous job all the staff are doing to provide such a great service in what is generally a poor country.
Ok the hotel rooms are a little dated, work is being done to upgrade the hotel, but you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable....how much time do you actually spend in your room anyway when it's so beautiful outside. The pool is excellent, well maintained and cleaned. The breakfast is varied and fresh.....how many hotels offer eggs cooked 5 different ways.....don't come to a Muslim country expecting bacon! If that's all you can find to complain about.....
Evening meals and food are also excellent if you're too tired after a days sunbathing to venture out.
The thing that this hotel has in abundance is amazing staff. They're friendly, without being in your space. They're attentive. They take pride in their work and they care that you enjoy your time there...to us that's priceless.
So don't expect a 5* hotel, they don't claim to be that, you're not paying for that, but believe me you'll get 5* service from the great team at Badala Park hotel.

So, will we be back.....for sure......can't wait!

It is a beautiful hotel, especially the outdoor area and the pool. Unfortunately it is very outdated and in need of reparations. The wifi only worked in the reception area. Otherwise nice, friendly staff and a nice breakfest
