The rooms are all garden rooms across the street. They are very new and spacious. Great shower/bath. Housecleaning perfect and kind. 
Loved the pool and beach. Breakfast was standard. We had an amazing one at Te Moana if you want to see 5 stars. It would take much. The beds big and comfy. 
We liked our concierge Lady who booked a snorkeling  trip on an outrigger (3 stop ) around the whole Island. Great call. The best $75 ever spent per person. 
Bar staff fantastic. Breakfast staff great.

You can pay $1000 for a over the water, why when $200 get all and more

This is a lovely Polynesian owned resort with very friendly staff and run very well.  It is less flashy (and therefore cheaper) than the large American chains and is better for it. 
The rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the ambience with its small beach very cosy.

A lovely cosy locally owned resort with beautiful gardens

Lovely place to stay.  The breakfast selection was plentiful.  We also rented a car for couple days to explore.
The staff was welcoming and attentive.  We really enjoyed the beach and did a little snorkeling too. Overall it was the best fit for us.
Would recommend staying here.

Wonderful affordable place to stay.

What a little paradise. I felt so well here. The hotel is located at the main island of Bora Bora. So I could explore the island by bike and hiking. The rooms are pretty and very clean.
The whole staff is so natural friendly and helpful. The kitchen is excellent and the breakfast buffet offers a wonderful choice for a perfect start in the day. I love this cozy hotel.

Simply wonderful

Very nice hotel, the buildings with the rooms, in a tropical park, are across the street from the lobby, pool, restaurant and smallish beach. Our room was well appointed, with balcony, fridge, tea/coffee kettle, good-sized bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was generous, restaurant food ok and (for Bora Bora) reasonably priced. While the Royal is well-run, the ruins of Sofitel next door show the downside of exclusive tourism.

Our stay at Hotel Royal was wonderful. We were greated very nicely, incredibly friendly staff, and offered a place to store our bags until our room was ready. The beachfront is not large but adequate for the side of the hotel. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Our room was on the second level so be aware when booking as you do have to navigate stairs with your bags. Our room was large and had seating off the balcony with a view of the park/garden which was beautiful! Quick 3 minutes walk to Tiare Market for anything you might need. Only takeaway is that the towels we had in our room need to be taken out of rotation as they were fraying coming apart. I'd stay again on our next visit here.

Great Stay in Bora Bora

It has everything that we need for an awesome vacation...

Beautiful Tahitian architecture of the facilities where the lobby and restaurant are housed. Rooms are across the street, comfortable and have A/C. Good parking for rental cars. The beach and dock are just absolutely beautiful, and you can do wonderful snorkeling right off the beach. Also close to a small market and other restaurants.
