Briançon's Hôtel de la Gare was highly recommended to me by refuge owners in nearby Queyras Natural and Historic Park. I was not disappointed. I had all my breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The chef was quick to prepare the food according to my wishes . . . and also to prepare nice omelets for breakfast. The hotel is squeaky clean. Emma, the owner/hostess was accommodating in many ways. For example, she made sure that I receive a free city bus pass, which I used regularly. The bus stop is 15 meters from the front door. That the that the train station (gare) is only 80 meters from the hotel makes this hotel ideal. To the left of the gare is a parking lot where you can catch a regional bus to nearby villages, such as Nevache. By the way, this little village in the Val de la Clairée is a gem.
