What a beautiful location! What amiable hosts! We enjoyed everything, the big cats, the dog with the blue eyes, and especially the breakfast served by Monsieur et Madame. You won't get any better quality cheese, salami, bread and jam anywhere, no matter what the cost! We will be back. Merci!

I was walking in France.  My B&B hosts were very accommodating:  they picked me up in town when I couldn’t find their place; they don’t serve dinner, but did prepare me a lovely supper, a salad with tomatoes, eggs, chicken, and olives, a grilled sausage, a ½-bottle of wine, a little camembert, a pastry, and a baguette; they fitted me out in a suite (apparently because they had a guest who’d overstayed his reservation, but who knows); and, insisted on driving me into Sisteron this morning because they didn’t serve breakfast until 8:30 and that was too late for my start.  Madam insisted and I did not want to argue with her – oh, she also insisted on running my dirty clothes through her washing machine.  Anyway, Monsieur was doing the driving this morning and I explained to him that for me, it was about the walking, not the getting to my destination.  He explained that it was a long way, that it was going to be a hot day, that he was going into town to run errands anyway; he clearly thought that I was at best a fool and at worst out of my mind for insisting on walking under those circumstances, but he bid me adieu when I said I was ready to get out of the car about 2k up the road.

Claudine & Guy (& family) could not have been more helpful to us. We arrived late in the evening and hadn't eaten so they fitted us in for a wonderful dinner with them for approx 25 euros each. (You are meant to give notice if you wish to eat dinner but they had no problem catering for us at the last minute) The location is isolated and we got a bit lost but a helpful cyclist gave us directions. There is a nearby village but no facilites or restaurants, so I highly recommend eating at La Ferme de Valleuris as the dinner was delicious - aperitif, salads, barbecued meat, fried courgettes, cake, coffee, cheese, etc. It was one of the best meals we ate in France! The place itself is really pretty, nestled in the mountains, but the roads are nice country lanes (not over cliffs like some roads in the Alps), and there are vineyards nearby and nice quiet roads for running or cycling. Breakfast is toast, cake, jam, coffee and tea. The rooms are large and clean but no television. Remember you are in the countryside so there are mosquitoes outside that may get in your room if you leave the windows or doors open. Merci beaucoup pour le delicioux diner, Claudine!

This is a B&B that is on a working farm about 14 km north of Sisteron. The rooms were basic but large and clean and so were the bathrooms. Being on a farm, it is a bit out of the way but I thought it would be nice to be in the country rather than in a town and this was exactly that.
The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly and although they spoke very little English, we managed to communicate without any problems.
The breakfast, which comprised warm, freshly baked bread, homemade jams and delicious cheeses was just what we needed to fuel us for the day ahead.
A swimming pool was all that was missing to make this B&B excellent.
