Our stay was very enjoyable and comfortable. The rooms and the place overall are very tastefully decorated. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the common kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed having breakfast and dining in the garden near the pool. Also the host, Tony, was very helpful and even came out in the rain to welcome us as the place is a bit difficult to find the first time. The place is also in a very good location in the countryside but close to several villages in the Luberon.

If you would like a stay out of the way, but close to the beautiful town of Menerbes, this is the place to go.
Tony your host, is very entertaining and looks after your very well.
He even goes to the small town of Menerbes first thing in the morning and gets new pastries for you.

Great stay in country France

Let me just start by saying that I am native french speaker and that I communicated at length with the owner.
I was brought to this region of France for a school friend's wedding.
Having not found the time to book a place beforehand, I enquired with the owner whether he had any affordable rooms for a solo traveller.  At first he seemed friendly enough but was also saying a lot of things which were not true.  He first pretended to by Colombian, then later claimed to be from Venezuela.  He talked a lot and told me many stories many which seemed contradictory.  He also made some casual racist comments (something which unfortunately in the south of France is common place): he said that if I wanted cheaper accommodation I could go to town to the arabs but that they would break into my car since they knew I was renting it.  Obviously he started his sentence with "je ne suis pas raciste mais..."  Anyway I was quite desperate for a place to stay the night so I decided to ignore this and let him talk.
He also seemed to have an axe to grind with many other owners in the area, including the place where the wedding was taking place.
Anyway we were able to seal a deal and I stayed there that night.
I also told him I had two friends coming over the next day for the wedding and we agreed on a price for that day and the next.
The next day was pleasant: he showed me around the area and we visited some old monastery.  We even witnessed some Gregorian chants.  He also offered me beers and some food and was generally good company.  He talked a lot throughout the day and told me a lot of stories (99% of which were probably lies) but I let him talk and we were on friendly terms.  However he would later use his hospitality as a pretext to swindle me.  That evening I went to the wedding as planned and my two friends who I was expecting joined me there.  That night we came back late, as is customary for weddings, and went straight to sleep in the room I had rented out.
The morning after the wedding he asked for the money for the next day upfront on the pretext that he wanted to pay for the cleaning lady.  As a sign of good faith I didn't hesitate to give it to him.  However later one of my friend's had a change of heart and convinced us to go to Marseille instead of staying the night.  I asked the owner whether I could cancel our stay that night and have the money back.  He said the money had gone and I that he would pay me via bank transfer.  Needless to say at that point, I had heard so many stories from I didn't trust he would ever pay back and so politely asked him whether he could at least give me back half of the money and keep the rest.  At that point he got upset and started shouting about how he had been so nice to me the day before, and started using irrelevant arguments, like saying that my friends spent more on a taxi to the wedding than on the room.  He told us we were no longer welcome and that we should leave even though he had our money.  He was also rude to my friends and since my friends are dark-skinned I could sense some racism on his behalf.  He also cursed at us in Spanish probably with the only word he knew "coño".  Very unprofessional.  Not wanting to make a scene and wishing to stay cool we decided to leave.   Needless to say I felt quite bitter about the whole experience.  I felt like writing a review in the heat of the moment when I returned to the UK but I decided to let two months pass to write a more objective one.  However even after the passage of time, I still feel that I have been wrong done and that the owner has been dishonest, rude and very unprofessional.
If you look at my other reviews here, I hope you will appreciate that I am generally a nice person but on this instance I think the owner deserves to be reprimanded.  Don't get wrong, the place is nice and serene but the owner, unfortunately, is far from it.

Wonderful site but host is rude and impolite he throwed us out after one night with no reason (except he said bed & breakfast and I asked for breakfast time (????) and breakfast was billed ) though we had booked 4 - he seems to be in difficult relationship with customers -
