Manoir de Savigny

A lovely country house, in exceptional condition. So quiet and calm. There are beautiful gardens that allow your thoughts to drift. The bed was very comfortable so I had a good nights sleep. I would recommend this hotel to my friends if they are in the area. Thank you Eric

Wonderfully renovated and spacious old mansion.  All amenities, great food, hospitable host, easy parking.  I chose it because it is just to the west of all D-day beaches, so this way we were able to visit them all from west to east.  I only wish there was not so much pressure on getting to this mansion by 7:00PM, but we called in advance and were able to check in by 8:00PM.

We had a wonderful stay! The host, Eric had restored this incredible chateau! It was oozing with charm! The grounds are picturesque and the closeness to town is within minutes! Only a short drive to St Mere Eglise and the Normandy sites!

Perfect place for some relaxing days. The house is very well decorated and clean.
Erik, the owner of the Manoir, is very helpful (English speaking) to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Only complaint to our selves is that we stayed 2 days only...

This is a beautiful property and our host was great.  It is set in beautiful gardens which I wish we’d had more time to enjoy.   My main criteria when choosing somewhere to stay is easy parking and a walk in shower.   Only issue was that I’d requested a room with a shower as I find a bathtub difficult.     There was one on the website in the house but it must have been allocated, so we were given the delightful gite in the garden.     Unfortunately the upstairs bathroom has a wonderful shower, but the only toilet is down some steep winding stairs.  I wish I’d known this when booking.

Warm welcome. Very clean rooms with taste. All a bit weird in Covid times!  Thought maybe we could have had another towel each in the room as they were quite small!  Only baths in the 2 bathrooms upstairs. But fine. Breakfast average, not much choice. Coffee made in a water boiler so not great.  But beautiful surroundings and a very quiet spot. Very convenient for exploring DDay beaches. 

Our stay 

A beautifully refurbished manor house. Charming spiral staircase to huge comfortable room with large bathroom. Many atmospheric details. Lots of extra space for residents in lovely lounge complete with honesty bar , and hot drink making facilities. Outside is a garden delight, with superb planting and lots of interesting corners to explore.. Buffet breakfast.

Tranquil excellence

Really good value. Owner Eric has been there 15 years and said it’s been a non stop renovation. He appears to live on the premises in a separate annex or building. Amazing bedrooms and decor. Fine breakfast. Cons....needs a sat nav to get there. 4 miles down a narrow road to an excellent Italian style French restaurant. Eric will book it for you. Otherwise mikes fromanywhere snd taxis are apparently few and far between. My friend moved two chairs in lounge and forgot to put them back... Eric was very grumpy about that which seemed minor and petty to me. Overall though an excellent place to eat

A typical but restored French manoir

Manor with historical atmosphere. Well maintained. The owner is very kind and told us all about the history of the manor and of the area. Close to Utah beach but to distant from the other beaches of the D-Day and from the American and Canadian Cemeteries.Nice breakfast but the size of the beds is french, so to small.

Nice historical manor.

We are a family of 6 who stayed at Manoir de Savigny in May to be near the Normandy WWII tour and were absolutely delighted by the beautiful and historic grounds.  Eric, the owner, was a gracious host and very welcoming.  We rented the cottage.  It was spacious, clean, and comfortable.  We highly recommend the experience of staying at Manoir de Savigny!!

Fairytale Setting and Wonderful Host

We are a family of five, travelling primarely to see the historic sites. The location was perfect for that.
We stayed in the cottage, which was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The owner, Eric, is a very pleasant man. We opted to pay for breakfast and although the selection wasn't huge, what was there was high quality with emphasis on local and organic produce.
Our boys enjoyed the vast, beautiful grounds and the two friendly cats.
We hope to be back!

Fantastic, highly recommended

This is our second visit to this charming place . The attention to detail throughout the building is exquisite   You couldnt fail to be Impressed with the renovation .The bed linen is dreamy and each room has its own individual decor .  Eric speaks perfect English and makes your stay most enjoyable . The surrounding area has so much to offer the tourist and is so convenient for the Cherbourg ferry . One of our favourites, a night here before heading home ends our stay in France with happy memories

Second visit

This is a wonderful place to stay. The atmosphere of an old aristocratic France before the revolution, a setting of a chateau with farm buildings and lake. Absolutely unique to a Normandy experience. It is a must see, just like the beaches of the Normandy.Eric, the owner is great, and very helpful.Thank you for a great couple of days.Peter
