Unfortunately we only visited for 2 night’s due to French lockdown but staff very helpful and efficient and dealt with any requests swiftly. Very short walk to lifts with a piste going by the back of hotel, shame we didn’t get to ski because of covid-19 shutdown but staff rallied around to make the best of a tricky situation

I stayed here for 2 nights, with the film crews group of 30 people. We were welcomed very warmly, with superb dinner ... Inspite of serving 30 people checking in & having dinner late at night , the staffs are helpful & full of smiles !

Rooms are extraordineary! All rooms have balconies. Some rooms have bath tub, personal bathrobe, personal wardrobe for each person’s clothings, hair dryer, sandals, toiletries... Well, you’re getting more than you pay!... 

Hope they are keeping this standard all the times ... love our 3 days stay heaps!

This was a return visit (our group's experience was so good last year that we just had to return this winter). This Logis de France has clearly earned its status, through the efficiency and warmth of its welcome and the high quality (and generosity) of its catering for overnight guests. The basement pool, jacuzzi (x 2), sauna, +++ spa is a definite "plus".   [Note: Tignes is a high altitude ski resort, and (at least in winter) almost by definition, virtually all guests come to take part in winter sports; hence my inability to reply to various wheelchair access (etc.) related questions on this review site.]

We previously stayed in the Le Gentiana when last in Tignes 5 years ago and chose to return because our last stay was so good. We were not disappointed. 

The hotel is in a great location for the slopes with less than a 5 minute walk to multiple lifts. It has great facilities, comfortable beds, well equipped rooms but it’s key differentiator is its main meals. They are superb.

You have a choice most evenings between a soup or meat/fish starter, followed by a meat or fist main course, the fabulous local cheese trolley and finally a desert. On a few evenings during the week they also laid on some specials including a steak night, cheese evening (fondue etc) and a fabulous seafood buffet. All served by friendly knowledgeable staff with excellent wine recommendations. 

All in all sometimes you can be concerned in returning that you can be disappointed which is far from the case and next time we come to Tignes we will definitely be back again. 

This is a very good three star hotel.  The hotel is in an excellent location close to the main ski area and straight onto the slopes down some stairs.  The room was lovely the temperature perfect and it was also very quiet.  Always loads of hot water, and the bed was really comfy.  We would recommend this hotel.  

Have just spent an excellent week here. Very impressed with the comfort of the room. Food excellent especially the steak night. Also a very good choice every evening.
 I note that there have been complaints about the lack of wi fi.
Who needs wi fi on a ski holiday????

Le Gentiana was a great hotel to stay at. Is was only a 2 minute walk to the slopes and all the nearest shops, bars and restaurants. The breakfasts were lovely and and there was plenty of choice.What really made our stay was Serge and his team. They were so helpful and friendly. They wanted to make sure we had the best time and made the most of our stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying at Tignes Le Lac.

Great location to go skiing in Tignes and very very friendly services. Good restaurant food too!

Very convenient location for skiers, 30 meters from ski rental shop and another 20 meters from the lifts. The hotel staff are very warm and helpful. The rooms are a bit old but convenient. Breakfast is wonderful and rich. SPA is great! Highly recommended.

Great location

This was our fifth visit, booked under the old regime; so we were surprised to find Serge and Nadia gone, together with the four themed dinners and afternoon cake.

In place of the anticipated steak, Savoyard cheese, 20+ desserts, and fish buffet nights, every night we were offered haut/nouveau? cuisine. Whilst this was a novelty for a couple of nights, we found the lack of natural, un-puréed vegetables and rich, creamy desserts difficult to cope with. We spoke to the management and they tried to accommodate us as best they could. Sadly there was no cheeseboard shown on the menu as an alternative to dessert. (If on half board and you want to sample a Savoyard cheese speciality you have to book to go down to a partner hotel - not good when you have young children.) We were also disappointed that children were not offered smaller portions of the adult menu but a series of ‘fast foods’ and no vegetables other than potato. This was a problem for us as our granddaughter does not eat potato but she was kindly provided with plain tagliatelle.)

Other than our disappointment with the food - which is so important with any holiday - the hotel itself is still wonderful, the new staff friendly and helpful, and there is an added bonus of the wellness spa opening earlier in the day.

Sadly, unless we can be assured of more traditional French cooking, we will be unable to return to one of our favourite hotels.

Sadly, the food has changed

This place are amazing with very friendly people and the style are very nice. We came in summer for exploring and experience the glacier in summer so this place are half empty, well Tignes is very crowded in ski season. This hotel is very closed to main ski area and cable car, for sure it will always full in winter time. The room is very nice and clean with wooden style Architektur and modern touch. They have sauna , pool and jacuzzis in the basement, it’s another perfect facility for skiing. The breakfast is very nice as well with french and European style of breakfast.

This is so much better than the usual Brit-filled ski hotel. Firstly the majority of guests are French and as such the standard of food has to be, and is, very high. The best I’ve experienced skiing and almost anywhere else on my travels. The wine list is also extensive and a good selection by the glass.
The staff are friendly, helpful and good at their job all speaking sufficient English if not better.
Booking a single room I had feared the usual broom- cupboard but in fact had a small double bed with plenty of storage and a good en-suite. Okay, I was glad I wasn’t sharing the space. TV, kettle, hairdryer all there. By the way the English speaking channel is BBC World News Europe, No. 29 on the remote.
I was Room 109 which was quiet and had excellent WiFi. Can’t vouch for higher up the building.
The spa is wonderful after outdoor exertions, the steam room my favourite. It’s not huge, holds 6, but doesn’t need to be. In case you’re wondering, swimming costumes are worn in the sauna and hamman! Dressing gown and slippers provided. 
Ski-in, Ski-out? I would say not. Literally a piste runs by the back of the hotel but you then climb up a spiral staircase, like a fire exit type affair, and then walk round to the front of the hotel and in to the boot room. Personally I used the front, automatic sliding doors exit, walked the 100 or so steps to the main lift area, a very gentle downhill there and obviously a very gentle uphill at the end of the skiing day but if you can’t manage that, should you be skiing?! That’s the only reason I haven’t given this hotel the highest rating. 
The boot room has a lockable locker for each room, heated boot racks and only at peak times does it get congested, same as anywhere.
Overall, I can’t recommend this hotel enough, it’s what a holiday in France should be like, eating wonderful French food surrounded by friendly, enthusiastic 
French people!

Lovely hotel really close to the slopes.

My wife and I stayed here from the 11/1 to the 18/1/20.
Everyone at the hotel were really friendly and very helpful.
Restaurant was clan and the food/service was very good.
Only a short walk to the snow, to get skis on and the ski lifts were very close
