The owner claimed that the door was broken, which was obviously false The wifi doesn't go up to the room Breakfast is anything; the paper towels are tiny and instantly fucked up; you have to ask for butter.... Positive: the pool and the view We were there in September 2016

well situated but uncomfortable

I was here with my son the night before a fireworks discharge in Kajak. Very nice, quiet, neat place. Breakfast with homemade jam, honey and cake. Little neo don't speak a word of English... my French is really rudimentary, thankfully I didn't need much communication, otherwise it would have been a problem.

That's very nice.

The setting is perfect: scenery, tranquility... my only complaint is the room I've been in: toilet in the room, separated by a small curtain! (that's the limit!!!) And breakfast where butter is only given to the dropper... tiny portion by tiny portion. These are two discomforts that tarnish this little paradise.

Nice but can do better

Great welcome from the homeowners, nice clean rooms and water rooms, delicious lunch, little beemol... we arrived on the day of the Roland Garros final and hoped to watch the final game but unfortunately, no TV available.

Very good address

A very nice guest room for a night's play. Clean and decorated. A traditional lunch is very nice for us. A good bed in 160.

Satisfying

We spent 2 nights in this guest room. A very nice decorated room (in anise tones) with a (modern) bathroom adjacent to the room (there's only a small bottle of soft gel and a small soap, for 2 people, saving on the toilet!!).The bedding is much too hard (to my liking). The first night it was rather cool and there was no extra cover in the cupboard (Domestic, we had to start the radiator). The place is rather quiet and nice. Big negative: breakfast: bread, butter (counting drip), so no crisps but no chocolate bread and the orange juice is warmer, so I'll say breakfast is more than breakfast.

Not much better to do

The Chambre d'Hotes (B&B) organization in France is exemplary for its efficiency, effectiveness and controls of their featured houses. La Sauvagine in Salavas just outside of Valon Pont d'Arc offers a fine sample of exceptional quality in a serene quiet surrounding outside the hustle-bustle of Valon Pont d'Arc.

Christine and Didier, the hosts, have constructed a number of impeccably equipped rooms in two floors in their own home as is usual with such Chambres d'Hotes. Everything is clean, new, works well and with full privacy. We occupied the room called La Lavande as all rooms are named after herbs of Provence and Ardeche. In better weather we could have enjoyed the outside spaces as well but we happened to be unlucky with rainy and slightly cold weather.

The dinner, Table d'Hotes, was an experience as is usual having diner with the other guests and the hosts. In this case not only the appetizers were chosen from local delicacies, but our hosts took the liberty of a beautiful presentation as well. The main dish was delicious and plentiful but the 'piece de resistance' was the final offer of some exceptional cheeses of 'le terroir' (from the local country) courtesy of Didier. A two year old little' chevre' (goat) cheese still resonates in my mouth.

The final comment on this house has to do with the kind f people Christine and Didier are. We had diner with one other couple at the table, of similar age to us but the lady was blind and heavily deaf. They were there as a gift from their children for the 70th birthday of their father. Both Christine and Didier were most accommodating and pleasantly helpful with the circumstances in a most touching and kind way.
