We stayed 2 nights at this chambre d'hote in St Gilles on a Pineau Charente vineyard and it was lovely. The hostess was very friendly, and our room beautiful with a very pleasant seaside-nautical theme. Nice big room (blue room) and bathroom, kitchen access with fridge, TV in common room. Private entrance. Secure parking. Heated tile floors! Nice greeting. She left us glasses of pineau charante and small bowl crackers the first evening. There are some tea bags available & some little treats. Free wifi (worked intermittently). Pretty and private view out to vineyards. Even though situated a few miles from the sea can hear the sea with the door open! Is typically very quiet in the room but you can hear distinctly when someone is the kitchen/TV room. Breakfast was nice - the typical things plus a packaged fruit puree, a cake or madeleines or a chocolatey thing in a tiny box which was delicious. The hostess is very kind - we had a 'nice talk' but only in French. Good location to explore Ile d'Oleron.
