I saw positive reviews on other sites and the pictures looked very nice. On arrival, we met with the owners in their "section" of the property. It is an old property (I believe originally built in 1520), but the clutter in the main room made us wonder what our rooms were going to look like. After a glass of cider with Luc and his wife and an explanation of the surrounding area and activities, we went to the small three bedroom "house" that we were to stay in for a couple of days. It was a very charming cottage attached to the original barn and on inspection found to be quite clean. Luc's wife walked us through each room and explained that she would be back at 0830 with a continental breakfast. She only speaks French, so luckily our's was good enough to get by in conversation. This cottage seems to be built piecemeal over time and really needs some basic repairs in the upper floors (my foot almost went through the floor) and securing the toilet to the floor, to name a few. The breakfast was quite good, with fresh croissant, bread, fruit, cereal, juice, milk and various jams. The property is nice for a walk around, but I would be loath to fall in the pond, it has seen better days. Luc blamed the lack of wi-fi on a recent storm, so we did not have internet access while staying here and had to pay in cash.

Charming...but needs some work

We rented the "large" house for two weeks with my family, two adults and two children. 
It is what you should expect, a fairly basic house, quite typical for a French "git". 

The host couple are very nice people, I feel that they care for their guests in a French way. The host even took us for a lobster fishing tour with his boat. The host, Luc, speaks a basic English, his wife speaks only French. 

The house is ancient and built in stone, it has one wall towards a pond, so expect humidity, which is easily fixed by opening up the house and let it ventilate. 
There is a little garden with a basic BBQ and access to the pond where you can fish. If you are up to the challenge, you can try to catch the rather large carps, which you should put back. The pond is full of little fish as well, my children enjoyed angling for them in the evenings and caught quite a few. There was a lot fewer mosquitos than I had feared, only got a few bites. 

Everything worked, but as is so common, it feels poorly maintained and held together with duct tape and string. The advertised wifi only worked for about a day out of the 12 days we stayed and was abysmally slow. 

There are a lot of beds, none very comfortable, all a bit creaky, but we usually slept soundly anyway.

The kitchen is pretty small and has basic utensils, but no frying pans, no working knives and very little of anything else.

We never used the tap water for drinking, making coffee or even cooking with and I don't recommend you do.

There are a few cats around, one of them a charming old yellow one that spent a lot of time hanging around our house. The host couple also has two large dogs, one of them barks a lot at night which we found disturbing at times. 

Shopping is easily taken care of at the large shopping center in la Madeleine which is a five minute drive away. 
There is an abundance of activities nearby, so keeping kids active is easily done.

Charming but basic

We booked this for an overnight stay having seen the attractive website. I'm sorry to say that, for the first time in my (long) life, I walked out. We really couldn't have stayed there. Désolée.
After a convivial bol de cidre with the 'blunt-speaking' patron and his perfectly pleasant wife in a chaotic, and quite frankly dirty room, with cats on the dining table and a lovely dog shedding clumps of hair at our feet, we were told(!) that we had to pay upfront before seeing our room. Fortunately, given the state of the room we were in, we said that we wished to see our bedroom first. Let me just say that, at best, it was extremely basic, the shower was dirty and the surrounding areas were extremely grubby, all for 75€! The website is far from the reality. We are now, later that same night, sitting in a palatial, wonderfully appointed room in a fabulous, spotlessly clean B&B, with charming hosts, for only 5€ more!
