Le Bois Étoilé

The town is well supported by the island cycle network. The daily market is great and the indoor market is in ample supply and as fresh as you can get - sea food, fruit/veg, local produce, etc.
Definitely worth several visits and easy to get to.

Summer holiday

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights last summer. Nice rooms but the room we were given was next to the kitchen. Great shower and basin but no toilet! This was right nextdoor to the kitchen separated by a curtain, which could be used by the staff and other guests! Not acceptable. We were given another room, much nicer so we were happy. We hired our bikes from Nicolas as it was convenient for us. Breakfast was taken around a large table with other guests. That's fine if you like communal dining with staff hovering in the background! Also a bit of a smell in the kitchen due to staff smoking. Not quite what we expected when we booked but we had a lovely time exploring the island anyway.

Adequate accommodation

A family of 3 so we booked 2 double rooms for 5 nights 750€ per room. 
The guest house is located in a very quiet street very closely totally he village centre and the very popular beach. The 6 small rooms with ensuites are crammed into a small patio/ garden/ pool resulting in little privacy for guests. 
The lack of air conditioning made it uncomfortable. 
Breakfast was simple fruit salad with croissants and bread.  Bikes were available to hire.
Staff were friendly and helpful. 


Well located and comfortable but lacks privacy. 

After confirming a booking for 2 rooms well in advance via booking.com we were very surprised to find that the hotel was closed on arrival!! Luckily it was in the low season so we could find elsewhere last minute in the evening. They close if the weather isn't good however fail to let customers know this.
The poor rating maybe unfair for the accommodation which we didn't see but the service was poor. 
It maybe worth confirming your booking prior to getting there in future.
