My wife and I got to town late and booked a room here through Expedia. Unfortunately Expedia incorrectly booked the room, and when we arrived this lovely little hotel was full. Even though it was not in any way the hotel's fault, the staff were absolutely amazing. The owner called around and found us a room at a nearby hotel (which was significantly more expensive) and put the charges on her own personal credit card to ensure we wouldn't have to pay anything, saying she would fight with Expedia for us and that we should simply enjoy our holiday. It was one of the most kind and generous gestures I've ever experienced, and we were so grateful. They treat their guests like family and genuinely care about ensuring they enjoy themselves. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, perched between a tree-covered mountain and the beautiful lake. I honestly cannot recommend the Hotel Residel highly enough.
