13 reviewsWe were two couples who stayed here for a week. We needed someplace with at least two bathrooms and a room that had two beds; this had THREE bathrooms! We stayed as a gite, not as a B and B; both can be done. It was chilly and there were some problems with heat downstairs but the hosts are right next door and they fixed things when asked. Beds were not made up for us, but the linens were provided as we had agreed. The bedrooms are dark because the windows are small. Bear in mind that the house was once the stables for the olive mill and it is old! The downstairs bedroom and bath are not as nice as those upstairs, but one couple stayed down to avoid stairs. The beds were fine. The wireless worked perfectly. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made use of it to cook most of our dinners. We couldn't figure out the oven, but used the stove top , dishwasher, coffee maker and microwave. The outside could use some cleaning up. Most Americans might find it a bit too funky for their tastes. If you like interesting places with history more than you care about luxury accommodations, you will be happy staying here. We could easily visit St. Remy, Arles, Avignon, Les Baux, Eygalieres and more from this location. Just a little way down the road is a winery and a hiking trail into the Alpilles...we enjoyed both. There's a beautiful little chapel up there! One of the things we love about traveling and not using hotels is the people we meet. Philippe and Claire were interesting and helpful. We found them to be lovely. They had a simple dinner ready for us (at my request) as we were tired from travel the first night. Philippe spent a lot of time with us showing us the old olive mill and explaining everything...fortunately my husband speaks French! They do not speak much English. We would be very happy to go back. Thank you Philippe and Claire!
