B&B HOTEL Quimper Nord Douarnenez

Ok so here's the deal, budget hotels do what they say on the tin, they serve a purpose by giving you somewhere to stay for a devilishly cheap price. That ladies and gentlemen is their unique selling point. B&B Quimper Nord is conveniently located just off the N165 and close to the delightful Breton city of Quimper. My family and I (2 adults and 2 kids, 10 and 9) stayed here en route to our mobile home in Southern Brittany (see my Camping du Quinquis review) as we thought we may as well have an extra night in France and visit Quimper as we'd never been there before. The room was small but it had a shower room, a double bed and a sort of attic room above, I'm not sure if all rooms are the same (they probably are) but be aware that the 'attic room' is accessed by very (and I mean very) steep wooden stairs, so its not suitable for very young children but the double bed is a nice size and comfortable so you can make your sleeping arrangements as you see fit. There is also a TV in the room however there were no English language channels on the TV. There is a compact reception/diner area with vending machines serving hot and cold drinks and snacks. They also serve a continental breakfast in the diner area, at additional cost. If reception is closed, don't panic as you will have been given a reservation number which you can enter into a machine that looks like a cashpoint, located outside the door to reception. Once you enter your reservation number, you will be given a room number and a code to enter your room as the hotel operates a keyless system. There is a Leclerc supermarket opposite the hotel and Quimper is a 5 minute drive away. All in all, the hotel is perfectly fine for what it is, somewhere to stay overnight en route to somewhere else. There are numerous B&B's located throughout Brittany but this is the only one I have stayed in. We paid €39 for our stay, fantastic value for a family of 4.
