This restaurant in near to where I'm staying for the season and I visited to see a friend who was working there.

After arriving initially for only drinks we were encouraged to take lunch and what a jolly good lunch is was too.

It only turns out the the Sunday Times had reviewed the restaurant's tartiflette as the best in the region! It was delicious, absolutely stunning. Additionally, we enjoyed a local wine and finished with the owner's Génépi.

We really enjoyed our stay in Les Chabottes. Christophe is an amazing host, his morning waffles are delicious and the evening meals are delicious and filling after a good day out.
The chalet is cosy in this remote but beautiful part of the valley.
We will definetely come back!

My girlfriend and I were finishing a long hike from Champagny Les Bois and had passed a couple of refuges/gites; all without space for two travelers. We arrived at Les Chabottes at 7pm and we had not made a reservation. We were hoping for the best and Christophe delivered precisely this. We decided to go for full-pension at 50 euro's per person.

At arrival, he amused us by making a cracking a couple jokes and informally told us about the chambers, dinner, breakfast, location and weather forecast. He asked us at what time we would have liked dinner. The accommodation was plenty spacious and clean. We had our own toilet and shower, as well as a nice bed.

Dinner was a local dish, which I won't spoil, but it was terrific for a long day of hiking. Although it was a little fatty, this is pretty normal for this part of France. We enjoyed wine, good meat and nice conversation with some of the locals. Overall a very enjoyable evening with very nice people.

We slept well, though the rooms are a little thin-walled. It's very easy to listen to conversations and involuntarily hear other late night activities. Time of breakfast was also at our preferred time. The morning waffles were absolutely amazing. Every table had their own toaster and jam.

To summarize, we loved this little place and will definitely return in the future. The hike that made us stay here, turned out to be the most interesting one, so if you're in the area; definitely go do that. Le Bois > Plaisance > Entre Le Lac > Les Chabottes
