Le Manoir de la Riviere

Overlooking the Dordogne River. Beautiful setting for three women touring the area. We all love the French countryside and there are only country roads here. Nell, is an absolute dear and a beautiful, hearty, continental breakfast she laid out for us. Yogurt, fruit, muesli, coffee and juices. She served both plain and sweet croissants and of course that and the bread was brought fresh that morning. What else would one expect in the France. Nell even asked us if there was anything else she could pick up for us and we all said plain Greek yogurt. And the next morning there it was. I said the bedrooms were spacious, the whole house is spacious with a wide hallway. The baths are huge and fully supplied. I loved the cozy large terry robe. The pool is set just inside the gate, far enough from the house if someone wanted an early or late swim. The entry was chilly, it had been a very cool evening; and the heaters in the bedrooms were very efficient. Of course, in May it can be as chilly as it can be very warm. We dressed in layers and carried our rain jackets. Merci, Nell.
