Grand Hôtel Magenta

Stayed here for 5 nights (Sat- Thurs) was very easy to find, very accessible to public transport, shops, restaurants & Bars. Stayed in Room 5 on First Floor. On entering this room… it was at first an old dated room With double bed, TV, Fridge, Fan, Desk & Chair, Wardrobe, Tall Mirror & a bathroom. But looking through this- we had a fantastic 5 days here!! Pillows were comfy, room wasn’t too hot both day & night & had a shower over the bath. The fan & fridge was a life saver tbh & was very grateful to have these 2 luxuries. Unfortunately, we arrived the day Paris won football, so the streets were quite loud, especially during night. But following nights it was pretty quiet. The room itself was cleaned daily with new towels & toilet roll. Once I went down to reception to ask for extra towel, which was given immediately! You can get your clothes washed & dried here but we didn’t use this facility. The staff & cleaner were all very welcoming & lovely! No issues whatsoever. Only con I’d report back to hotel was that the bath could do with a shower curtain. Although there is a shower screen… I accidentally got the floor wet twice as the water can reach back of bath. Advice I would give to anyone staying here… if staying on first floor please shut the patio doors during night time as we had noticed graffiti right by our patio doors during night- suspecting people can climb the guttering to get to first floor. Although we had no issues, just a safety precaution. If you are English & own a fire stick I would recommend bringing as channels are all French. It was our saving grace during night time! Overall, this was a fantastic hotel to stay at for a few days while we visited Paris. We took train daily through underground tubes. Every fast food restaurant you can think of is within a minutes walk. We had access to everything we needed here! We were very happy with our stay! But please note, this is a budget hotel; look past the out dated decor & just enjoy your stay. All the buildings look the same so why pay double the price for same experience… Thank you to all the staff here & please pass on our gratitude to the cleaner! A lovely woman
