184 reviewsMy girlfriend and I stayed 22 days in Europe and our last stop was in Paris. We were running low on money and opted for a budget hotel and picked hotel Picard based solely off of its super low price. We arrived too early for check-in and had to wait in the lobby until Mr. Fabio at the front desk could get us a room ready. We didn’t mind because we had been traveling and walking Paris and needed to sit down and rest anyways. Mr. Fabio acquired us a clean room about an hour earlier than check-in time. Before we went to the room, he showed us a map of Paris and highlighted the best spots and best deals around the city to be able to see as much as we could in our 3 day stay in Paris. This was very helpful for us as money was wearing thin after 22 days traveling Europe already. The room was basic with a bed, table, closet, and a sink but it was clean and had a home feel to it. We had two big windows overlooking the street from the 4th floor and we shared several glasses of wine peering out at the night sky. The bathroom is shared by the inhabitants of the fourth floor with the toilet separate from the shower. Honestly we never managed to bump into anyone else on the third floor so this was not an inconvenience at all. There is a spiral staircase leading up to the rooms or a teeny tiny 2 person elevator is also available. We loved the elevator and got some funny pictures to share with family. The breakfast however not included in the stay, was super cheap as compared to the tourist trap restaurants located nearby and was excellent. I ate croissants until I was about to bust at the seams and the sweet lady in the kitchen just kept bringing more. On Mr. Fabios advice, we departed to explore the city and had an excellent 3 day stay. The night before we left to head back to the US, Mr. Fabio asked us how we planned to get to the airport to catch our plane the following morning and we had been having so much fun that we hadn’t considered this yet. In all of the other cities we just usually had to “wing it” and ended up either walking several miles or paying tons of money to taxi drivers. He priced taxis for us but then informed us of a shuttle service he could arrange to take us to the airport for MUCH MUCH cheaper. We were running on the last of our funds so we jumped at this idea. He handled everything for us and when we came down from our room, he was waiting for us and offered us coffee to go and thanked us for staying there. We thanked him back and even exchanged hugs as he helped us put our bags in the shuttle van. Overall our experience at Hotel Picard was perfect. The price was great, the accommodations were great, the employees were incredible and went above and beyond to help two homesick love birds navigate Paris and return home safely. I’ve read the other reviews of this place and have seen some bad ones but trust me, after 22 days in Europe staying in different hotels almost every other night that cost way more than hotel Picard and made you feel scared to be there, this is a place you can appreciate with plenty privacy and that cozy feeling of home that lets you rest easy and wake up with adventure on your mind and love in your soul. Thanks again Mr. Fabio for your help and kindness.
