Hotel Claude Bernard Saint Germain

An Elevator, room frig, Air conditioning. We chose hotel for all the preceding amenities, hard to get in Paris. It was also close to Notre Dame and the Staff were exceptional. We arrived about 11AM and were given room keys immediately by charming gentleman on Reception. After long flights this was bliss. Will suggest also a benefit of booking an hotel which was obviously popular but not as manic as hotels at edge of Notre Dame are. Our 5th Floor room was spacious and fastidiously clean. 2 sets of French Doors to Balcony indicated it was a more generous room too. Housekeeping gave us another suitcase rack for second suitcase which was very appreciated. The bathroom was a good size and had hooks to hang towels and bits. Shower was smallish but quite OK. Decor is spartan, Hotel White, but pleasant. Comfortable bed. An electric Tea kettle and very nice Tea. Our arrival in Paris coincided with early heat. 28. Fortunately the Aircon was powerful. The balcony had a table and 2 seats. The view was so fantastic we sat out with a Vin and fromage and didn’t eat out as intended. I’m a Balcony Tragic and that 1 was Award Winning. In the large hotel foyer was a Guest Refreshments corner. The Lemon Water was so good after hours out in the heat seeing all the sights. Perfect area as it is quite Residential so grocers nearby for food and wine. Lovely architecture and historical places along walks. Near The Sorbonne. Easy walk to sensational Notre Dame.
