1088 reviewsWe stayed in a king bedroom for two persons and a view to the center courtyard. We were pleased with the comfortable bed, and wonderfully quiet room and enchanted with the fact that the building was originally built by John Jacob Astor IV (who died in the Titanic). Maid service was available every day. Our favorite points for this hotel is the location minutes from the American Embassy and Place de la Concorde. It was also 10 minutes from the Gare de St. Lazare and a little further to the Galeries Lafayette. The Louvre was a 30 minute walk. When we went down to The Marais on Saturday and the Place Vendome, there were so many people. I loved that we were in a quieter, more peaceful environment. But the very best thing about this hotel was the service, particularly the concierge who were daily most helpful, and the staff at the bar. We had breakfast here once and while it was more than we like to spend, it had a good selection of many things, including quiche, made to order omelettes, croissant, fruit and etc. When we arrived, there was cold champagne waiting for us…maybe because we booked 7 nights? It was fabulous because we were celebrating our 50th anniversary but had not shared that information with anyone. On one of our last nights, we received another nice note from the hotel along with some delicious chocolates and a bottle of cold white wine. The entire experience was lovely!
