What a great experience to have stayed here. Lovely surroundings and a very kind hostess and host. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. Wish  we could have stayed longer.  We did bring some of their wine with us, delightful by the way, so we can raise a glass and reminisce.

Absolutely one of the best places we have ever been! We felt so welcome, the place is absolutely amazing! And on top of all that: they produce their own wines as well, which are pretty good!! Must visit.

Our stay at Chateau de Messey was simply perfect: from warm welcome by the owners in their lovely maintained estate, to a picturesque breakfast in plain air and tour of chateau. 

What we found very distinctive about the Chateau is the passion of its owners - Aurore and Marc to make the place and your stay a unique experience. Personal commitment to the details, while creating your own personal space, gave the ultimate comfort and feeling like you spent your whole life there and you own every single piece of it.   

The only "disadvantage" - we ended up buying more Chateau de Messey online than any other chardonnay in local wine shop after coming back home!....just to bring the amazing "terroir" of Chateau back home. This year, we are planning a much longer stay at Chateau de Messey to share our experience with more members of our family. We are looking forward to have another fantastic experience. 



My wife and I stayed here for several days several years ago and our stay there  is still one of our fondest memories.  Atmosphere, surroundings, service, food, wine (!!) everything was memorable. We stayed in the one of the buildings surrounding the main building and found it very comfortable.  We also took advantage of the dinner being served in the main building and it was excellent.

Great owners, very welcoming. Area is superb, quiet, great views, you will get a good night sleep for sure. Very friendly staff, even more friendly cat - Mignette is a joy, and not intrusive at all if you are not a cat person. Highly recommend the place, my husband and I throughly enjoyed it. Good and genuine people own this place, wish we'd live closer and meet them again. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful place - tranquil and idyllic.  The proprietor Markus gave us a very warm welcome.  Nothing was too much trouble and he made us feel very 'at home'.  We just happened to be the only guests there that evening and he prepared an evening meal for us and set the table with roses and candles!  The food was delicious too. 
Our room was spacious, spotless and very very comfortable.  We will definitely go back and explore the surrounding area.  My favourite stay in France so far (and we have stayed in some beautiful places).
Breakfast was a feast!

We have had limited experience with chambre d'hotes and our stay here would encourage us to be open to this type of travel. This one is made up of buildings attached to the actual Chateau de Messey. It is located just to the west of Ozenay and is signposted from the main road. Our host, Marcus, is very friendly and accommodating. When he has multiple guests he typically cooks. We were his only guests this night and he prepared a nice picnic dinner for us, one that necessitated a trip into Tournus for supplies. Our room was large and comfortable and from it we had a nice view of the pond on the property. Marcus gave us a hand with carrying the luggage upstairs, something I appreciated. For breakfast he cooked a couple of free range chicken eggs from the chickens he raises. This is a good location for families and a good stop for bicyclists and hikers enjoying the countryside. For us it was a convenient location from which to visit nearby Romanesque churches. The setting is quiet and tranquil, the sleep quality was good. We would stay again if we were in the neighborhood. There is on site wifi but we could not access it from our room. No real problem for us.
