La Guilbaudière

The hosts, a wonderful young couple named Mégane and Guillaume, are more genuine and attentive than you can find in a ***** hotel. The property is situated in a large garden, with magnificent trees and lush landscapes. The rooms are incredibly nice: we stayed in two connected suites in a private wing (perfect for a family of 1-4 children) featuring romantic in-room bath tubs and an imaginatively decorated interior design: branches of trees, and fragments of ancient books provide the tapestry of the room. Downstairs, the large library and the dinning room are fantastic, full of books and original paintings from local artists. During one of the evenings, Mika, the artist, came for dinner and painting live a mural painting live on the ceiling. The location of the property was perfect for us: it is out in the nature yet very close to the city. The breakfast was just right: fresh baguettes, exquisite confitures from the garden, freshly squeezed orange juice, perfect coffee, and the most delicious Madeleines, warm from the oven, bringing back lost times. We cannot wait to come back. Definitely one of the most amazing places to stay in Nantes: we can only hope this gem of a property remains a well kept secret!
